Moving Day

The day finally arrived when my mom moved to Temecula. She had always vowed to never leave Camarillo....things change! She had been warned to downsize...moving from a 2500 square foot house to 1700 square feet. If you know Mary Lou you know she can be a bit stubborn. Here is the moving van her stuff arrived in.

We weren't happy......

This is only a taste of it...the garage is actually more packed than this! As is the sunroom at the back of the house. To say she has her work cut out for her is an understatement. Love you mom!!

SpRinG BrEAk SKI TriP

AAHhhhh, Spring Break. What better way to spend it than a trip to Utah to ski! We stayed at a great hotel in Sandy where we had a 2 bedroom suite, free breakfast, and free appetizers at dinner! We'll definitely come back here. We decided to go to three resorts we hadn't been to before. Previously we had only been to the Park City area resorts.

SUNDAY: ALTA
Beautiful weather. Sunshine all day. No less than 3 meltdowns by Tabby. Apparently she forgot she knew how to ski. By the end, a great day

Tabby didn't want her picture taken here, obviously. She had fallen and hurt her leg. Luckily only a bruise, no break.

Isn't it BEAUTIFUL!!

See that snowball in Jake's hand? We were relaxing at the end of our day and he and Tab insisted on throwing snowballs.

yep, that's Snowbird, our Monday stop. Loved this one. Found the greens on the backside a bit too challenging for our girl who forgot how to ski. By the afternoon all was good.

Yep, still gorgeous out. Warm and sunny.

Oh yeah, see the ice bag under Kel's hand? She fell near the end of the day on her pole. Thought maybe it was broke, debated taking her in. Now think it's only bruised. She has more movement today (Wednesday). It sure was painful!

Decided to take Tuesday off, what a great idea. The winds were gusting to 50mph, not a good skiing day. We went to see "Alice in Wonderland" in 3D and walked around a mall (Steve's favorite).

Wednesday: Snowbasin! Snowfall all day. Much different skiing in the powder. My brother Josh would ski here often when he was stationed in Utah. Very nice lodge, tissues at every lift. Very nice ski patrol. Yes, we spoke with the ski patrol. this time Kelsey got lost, not just a little lost. 2 1/2 hours lost. We were frantic! She finally made it down at about 3:45, after the ski patrol was out looking for her. "Oh, sorry, I got lost". AAHHHH!!!!

My Stevie skiing down the hill.

(yes Josh, I know you're jealous!!!)

While we were waiting for Kel's navigational unit to kick into gear, Tab and Jake played on the big Moose.

Ah, happier times at lunch. Oh, wait, not so happy for Kel. While carrying her tray through the cafeteria she hit a spot of water and crashed to the ground, literally. Poor thing. Hurt her ankle, but was fine. Overall, not a good day for Kel.

We had a great trip and are looking forward to next year! Thanks Utah!!

BRACES!!

Tabby has had her braces for a little over a year now. We thought Jake would luck out like his dad and not need any. He teeth look great, except for the fact that he still has a bunch of baby teeth. Today was the day that Jake got his braces. He has two teeth on the top waiting to drop but have no where to go, and let me tell you, they are some BIG teeth! The orthodontist said that judging by the size of his teeth he's going to be a big guy (boy didn't that make him light up). We'll see...he does have some big teeth though!

Holding his mouth open to get to the molars.

CHEESE!! All done! Doesn't he look great? With those BIG teeth the braces don't seem quite to noticeable.

Park City Fun!

We headed to Park City again with Jeremy, Christian, Terry and Renita.

During our drive we stopped at McDonald's (not my pick). It was the nicest one we've ever seen! This waterfall was inside.

Jake and Tabby on the gondola to the Canyons.

Renita at Solitude, wishing for some solitude. No ski school to get in her way this time!

Renita and Terry

Park City Mountain, our only day of snow. We were freezing!

Tabby, Haleigh, and Kel enjoying a hot cocoa break at Park City Mountain.

Girls' Weekend 2010

Girls' Weekend 2010 was unique in many ways. The first, and most obvious, is that we were missing Erika and Renita! Even so, we managed our way through the day in San Diego. Of course, this was no ordinary day. So Cal was experiencing quite the rain storm. The driving was a bit white knuckle for me! We met up at SAndra's to start the day (Jenny would be meeting up with us later in San Diego)

Me, Jess, Melissa, Sandra, Bonnie, and Janel ready for fun! We headed to Hotel Del Coronado first for a brunch. The rain flooded the outside patio and the birds were flying around the restaurant. What fun! (forgot the pic, sorry)

Next, we headed to Horton Plaza in Gaslamp for a bit of shopping and walking. Jenny joined us there. After a long walk to our-favorite-dessert-place-with-an-eternally-long-wait we turned around and went to Cafe Sevilla for dinner. Quite an interesting place. Once dinner was over Janel got on the phone and arranged for the whole family to meet at Killarney's in Temecula for one last visit before she left to head back to Minneapolis (or Chicago as it turned out)

Only Janel could get everyone together like that!

Little Maddie played photographer for me throughout the night at Killarney's.

Photoshop

I received Photoshop Elements 8 from David and Sandra for Christmas! I have been waiting to get this so I can have some fun with my photos. This was my first project. This is a pic of Tabby and Kel on Christmas Eve. Here is the fun I had: Tab had a scratch on her left cheek that I removed!; made the pic black and white; added a grunge border to it. I can't wait to play some more!

Blood Work

Jake went back to Children's in San Diego today for blood work. I had missed this on the original order for his MRI, which we did 2 weeks ago. They took 5 vials of blood! Now we will head back to the neurologist's office to find out the results of all the testing. On the up side, his arm twitching isn't as frequent as it was and he has grown an inch and a half since August!
