Aren't these beautiful? No, they are not mine, they're Kel's! and YES a BOY gave them to her! We have entered the land of boyfriends in this house. Here is the story: Kelsey and Joe have been friends since sometime during their freshman year (about a year and a half). She has liked him for a while and he has liked her. A couple of weeks ago she came to me and said that they would like our permission to finally date. Oh, BOY. We had a big talk (about as much as she could handle), Steve and I had a big talk, and then Kel and I. We told her that it was OK with us. We had met him a couple of times, seems like a nice, respectful BOY, gets good grades, etc... (insert my mom chucking here...). She passed the message on to Joe last week and has eagerly been anticipating him asking her ever since. He came by the house today and asked to speak to Steve and I. He wanted to personally ask our permission to have Kel as his girlfriend! How sweet is that? Steve laid down the law to him, wish I could have recorded that. Then we let him talk to Kel. The following is what happened.

Isn't it just adorable?? Their first date is to dinner on Friday. I told her she can't wear a t-shirt!

You are so naughty Gail! I LOVE it! It's ok to do that stuff now that we're parents, but could you imagine our parents doing that??? Seriously, that is so sweet, it sounds like this Joe fellow is very kind and respectful, which is just so wonderful to hear because our Kelsey is such a catch! Actually it sounded more like a marriage proposal, sheesh. Yay for Kelsey! Do you have an pics of the happy couple?
I'm working on the pics. Maybe I can get one on Friday when they go to dinner. It was SO MUCH FuN!!!!
WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BABY KEL!!!! That really is so sweet but....are Mom and Dad going to dinner with them????? I think that's a good idea.

This is Olga Minnis Joe's mom, he was so excited to share your blog with me, shhhhhh, he does not know about me me posting a comment yet.
I love your family blog, that is why Joey was asking me questions the other day about Blog pages.
Joe has spent the last few days thinking of what he was going to say to you and Steve (I think he was most concern with Steve, I explained this is her dads lil girl, he will lay the down rules, be prepared, Joe)
At this moment Joe is waiting for you to drop her off for dinner, he has been there promptly since 7pm. and put their name on the waiting list, so they don't have to wait so long when Kelsey arrives. He has gone over and over with me what 15% tip should be. And he has earned every dollor for dinner tonight. I think he is real excited also to pay with his new debit card.
He likes Kelsey very much and I have met her a few times on the field this last track season. I think is a Super nice girl. Joe talked about you and likes you allot also.
Our lil ones sure grew up fast. Joey is the baby of the family, and I cried when I read your blog.
O- he will be embarrassed now!
